Where’s Natalie?

Character Parade

This morning I snuck away from the house early (leaving a sleepy Steven feeding a sleepy Natalie breakfast), and went to Barksdale to see the girls in their character parade. Each of the kids chose their favorite book and dressed as the character from the book. Both girls looked adorable!

Jaynie dressed as Pinkalicious and was, of course, in pink from head to toe!

Arrgghh...

On Saturday, Natalie and I went to Fern Bank with my parents and the kiddies for Pirate weekend. The kids dressed like pirates with eye patches and earrings and Natalie had a pirate tee shirt on. She and Steven spent part of Friday practicing her "arrgghh"! We had lots of fun and made some pirate crafts and then played in the child section. Natalie's pirate name was "Two Leg Leach Eater" :)

Sigh...

A year ago today Steven and I both let out HUGE sighs of relief! November 4, 2008 the revocation period was up for Natalie's birthmother to change her mind! We woke up on November 5th knowing that Natalie was ours forever! I had originally thought that the revocation period was until midnight on the 4th and then found out mid-day that it was actually until the close of the business day (5:00 pm). Even more exciting! We had been assured by S's family that we had nothing to worry about, but it was still such a relief that she was ours!

Halloween 2009

Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Lion had a busy, and fun, Halloween!

On Friday, Dorothy joined the Tin Man at his school to trick or treat around Old Town Conyers. It was lots of fun! Natalie got a lot of candy. Unfortunately, she can't eat much of it this year, so her parents offered to help her out ;) Saturday afternoon, Dorothy "helped" carve her pumpkin. She also tried to eat her pumpkin, but didn't like the taste too much! Saturday evening, she joined the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion at a friend's house for pictures and then at a Fall Festival for even more fun! Despite the rain and chilly temperatures, the gang had a great time! Once she returned home from her adventure, she commented that "there's no place like home"!

Natalie loves the new push toy she got for her birthday! In the last week, she has really gotten good at maneuvering it around the house. It can also become a stroller, which is perfect for her to push her new baby doll in. She's so sweet to watch walk all over the house...

...until, she screams in frustration when a wheel gets stuck! Watch out!
